D-Prize: Transforming Poverty Interventions into Global Solutions

Spread the love

In a world where poverty continues to afflict millions, there’s a pressing need for innovative solutions to bridge the gap between existing poverty interventions and those who desperately require them. Fortunately, the D-Prize is on a mission to make a significant impact by supporting visionary entrepreneurs who can create new organizations that deliver proven poverty interventions at scale. If you’re ready to be a part of this transformative journey, read on to learn how you can make a difference and potentially secure up to $20,000 USD to launch your initiative.

Unlocking the Potential of Proven Poverty Interventions

The D-Prize understands that the key to alleviating poverty lies in the effective distribution of products and services that have already been designed to combat it. These interventions are real solutions to tangible problems, but they often face significant delivery gaps, leaving millions without access to the tools they need to improve their lives.

The Challenge: Create a New Organization

D-Prize is seeking business-minded individuals who are ready to take action. They challenge you to create a brand-new nonprofit or social enterprise that leverages an existing poverty solution to reach thousands, or even millions, of people in need. The areas of focus include health, water, agriculture, livelihoods, energy, public services, and custom solutions. Entrepreneurs are tasked with developing strategies for effective distribution to those who require these vital resources.

Your Opportunity: Up to $20,000 to Launch

What sets D-Prize apart is its commitment to supporting the most promising teams. They understand the challenges of starting something new, especially in regions where extreme poverty persists. To empower change-makers like you, D-Prize offers financial support of up to $20,000 USD to launch your new organization in areas plagued by extreme poverty.

Who Can Apply?

D-Prize is open to aspiring entrepreneurs from all corners of the globe, regardless of age or background. Many awardees have never launched a venture or secured funding before, making it an inclusive opportunity for newcomers. Additionally, existing organizations are welcome to apply if they meet specific criteria, including operating for no more than 18 months and raising no more than $30,000 in outside funding.

Language Shouldn’t Be a Barrier

While D-Prize evaluates applications in English, they emphasize that perfection in the language is not a requirement. They are primarily interested in understanding your idea and its potential to make a positive impact on the world.

The Path to Success: Evaluation Process

The D-Prize selection process consists of three rounds:

  • Round 1: Submit your concept note and resume(s). With over 2000 submissions per competition, this is your first chance to stand out.
  • Round 2: The top 5% of entrepreneurs are invited to answer short-written questions. You’ll have two weeks to draft and submit your responses.
  • Final Round: Top entrepreneurs will be interviewed via phone and email, with the top 1% having the opportunity to receive up to $20,000 to launch their poverty-fighting venture.

Change Lives, Change the World

If you’re ready to use your skills and creativity to start a venture that can transform the lives of millions, select a challenge area and be prepared for the following deadlines for the Global Competition:
